This is it guys!  Cruse the Shenandoah River thru beautiful Shenandoah Valley, unbelievably beautiful. They rent canoes, kayaks, tubes and rafts.  Its an easy river with some challenges. It is absolutely beautiful on the river.  What ever your river pleasure is they got it.  Anita is the manager and has been with Downriver since the begriming of time or as long as I can remember.  She knows the river and can tell you anything you want to know.  She has catered to our needs for over 10 years right down to custom shuttles to other parts of the river.

Downriver has their own no frills with thrills campground right on a rapid (Compton Rapid, class II), how cool is that.  Crawdads and Hellgrammites in a stream on the upper campground, great for bass or cats. We caught a lot of  large carp across the river below the rapid on doughballs.

If you wish to camp on the river, talk to Anita or me (at gocamping@mycampfireoutfitters.com).  There are some great spots, we have taken a week or longer trips on this section of the river.  We don't paddle every day, it's nice to just chill out for a day or two if you have the time.
